The Indonesian Madrasah Competency Assessment (AKMI) is an assessment tool that measures students' basic literacy skills, including reading, numeracy, science and socio-cultural literacy. Strengthening literacy is an important key to improve the quality of education in madrasahs, and the role of teachers is crucial in creating effective learning. The purpose of this study is to identify and analyse learning strategies and innovations that can be used by teachers in strengthening the literacy skills of madrasah students through AKMI. This literature review was conducted by reviewing various relevant literatures that focus on literacy teaching strategies in a madrasah environment. The results of this literature review show that some learning with innovative strategies such as problem-based learning, project-based learning, inquiry, discovery learning, LOK-R learning and MIKiR learning are able to improve students' literacy skills. The use of technology and visual aids or media is also effective in strengthening literacy skills. Teachers can use the AKMI results as a diagnostic tool to assess students' weaknesses and strengths so that more targeted interventions can be developed. The use of integrated learning strategies and innovations, as well as differentiated or needs-based learning, can significantly improve literacy skills. The study concluded: Integrated, differentiated learning strategies and innovations can significantly strengthen literacy skills. Teachers have a role as facilitators to create a learning environment that supports integrated literacy, so that it strengthens the AKMI outcomes of madrasa students. This study provides recommendations for madrasah teachers to continue developing innovative learning strategies to improve students' literacy skills.
